This engine is also known as the EG33. These engines are fairly on the rare side. The SVX was a car made from 1992-1997. The SVX really stood out of the crowd with its wild body style. These cars were considered to be in the luxury performance class. This car and engine is pack with performance technology before its time. As far as I know, all these cars were AWD and had automatic transmissions. Only 14,000+/- total units were sold in the USA.
This is a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 AWD 5 speed owned by Jesse Gaudlap. Jesse lives in the sunshine state of Florida in Jacksonville. Jesse has been in the high performance scene for most his life working on muscle cars with his family. After getting older Jesse still liked the muscle car scene but soon fell in love with imports. He has developed a DSM habit owning some eclipses, lasers, and talons. After owning mostly non-turbo front wheel drive cars he decided he needed more for his DSM performance fixation. After learning about these hard to find AWD turbo Galants he had to get one and this is how the saga unfolds.
If the “Superman” logo combined with the aggressive stance of this 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (AWD) wasn’t enough to grab your attention, how about its fastest time to date, 9.45 @ 144hp, the car itself pushing out 700+ awhp? And what if I then told you that time was earned running an automatic transmission? Now that I have your attention, allow me to tell you about Darren Thomas, a 23 year old hailing from Choctaw, Oklahoma who is both the 2008 and 2009 Import Face-Off Points winner. Darren and his crew must truly be Supermen [and women] because not only do they do all the driving, wrenching and fabricating themselves, but they also do it without the help of any Sponsors.
